 Dear Colleagues of APEC Economies,

With support from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Food and Drug Administration of Chinese Taipei will host the “2011 APEC Good Review Practice Workshop on Medical Products” in Taipei on October 11-15, 2011. This workshop is one of the major harmonization efforts of APEC Life Sciences Innovation Forum (LSIF). The goal of the workshop is to initiate and facilitate dialogues on topics of good review practices for pharmaceuticals and medical devices and enhance good regulatory practices in APEC economies.

We would like to invite all APEC economies to assign representatives from regulatory authorities to attend this important workshop. Representatives from regulatory authorities who hold influential roles in the regulatory management are encouraged to attend this workshop.  We also invite representatives other than regulatory authorities to participate in the program on October 15, 2011 which will be the only day open to the public. Please recommend the participants from your economy according to the attached “Administrative Circular” by kindly filling in the registration form and sending it back to the Conference Secretariat at amandayeh@mpat.org.tw at your earliest convenience but no later than August 26. The participation of APEC economies will certainly be among the highlights of the workshop.

For each travel-eligible economy, APEC and the Conference Organizer, Chinese Taipei  will provide travel expenses for a maximum of two participants. Please email an itinerary and quotation as well as costs of travel for an applicant to APEC Secretariat at sc@apec.org with a copy to mt@apec.org before September 2 for approval of the APEC fund. Once the travel arrangement is approved, APEC Secretariat will send to the applicant the travel undertaking form which requires being signed and returned by September 9 as finalization of the APEC Fund. Due to the limited available funding, we encourage travel-eligible economies to submit their applications as soon as possible. Please refer to the attached Administrative Circular” for more details of APEC Fund information.

We would be very pleased and honoured if you could send representatives to attend this workshop. Should you need additional information regarding the workshop, please do not hesitate to contact the Conference Secretariat at amandayeh@mpat.org.tw, telephone: +886-2-2321-2362 ext.24, fax: +886-2-2321-2357 or visit the website  http://www.cde.org.tw/apec for latest information.
